Morning arrival (ideally) in Israel, to be met and assisted
at Ben Gurion Airport by your ITC representative (today's
program depends on arrival time) Walk through the fascinating,
underground Roman water system that once fed
ancient Caesaria at Alona Park near Binyamina (strap-on
water shoes, small towel needed) Tour the magnificently
excavated ancient city of Tzippori, home to Rabbi Judah
the Prince; introduction to the site via an enjoyable ITC
"Site Detectives" program. Proceed to the Lake Kinneret

| Tuesday, 29 June - The Golan Heights (17 Tammuz) |

Travel through the Golan Heights by jeep (Shvilim), off
the beaten track, and stop to gaze down over the Galilee
as the Syrians once did. Optional: Stop briefly to check
how your compass is working at a paleo-magnetic park near
Kibbutz Merom Golan
Take a nature walk through the scenic Saluki Springs for a
view of ruins of both a Hasmonean village and a Syrian
army encampment; dip your toes in cool natural waters
(near Katzrin)
Ascend to the peak of Har Bental, where you can enter
army bunkers and take in a panoramic view at the crossroads
of three countries. Learn about the history of the
Golan Heights and the valiant story of Gamla, called the
"Masada of the North," at the lovely Golan Antiquities
Museum. Free evening on the Tiberias boardwalk.

Pioneers. |
| Plant a tree in Israeli soil in honor or in memory
of a loved one. Enjoy a tour of the synagogues, courtyards,
and alleyways of the mystical city of Tzefat,
including free time for shopping. Visit the quaint and lovely
town of Rosh Pina, one of the earliest settlements in modern
Israel (time permitting) Glide down the Jordan River in
a kayak or raft

We bid farewell to the Galilee at the picturesque Kinneret
Cemetery; read the moving poetry of the pioneer, Rachel
the Poetess, and sing the songs of Naomi Shemer, first
lady of Israeli song, at their gravesites. Travel south
along Israel's border with Jordan. Ascent to Jerusalem
Take in a breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem
from Mount Scopus, At Ammunition Hill learn about the
fierce Six Day War battle for Jerusalem that took place

In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western Wall's

for lunch (on one's own) and shopping in the Jewish
Quarter. Stumble across many archeological finds as you
take part in a hands-on dig through archeological matter
that has been dumped into Emek Tzurim from under the
