Morning arrival (ideally) in Israel, to be met and assisted at Ben Gurion
Airport by your ITC representative (today's program depends on arrival
time) See ancient history come to life at the new multi-media center
against the backdrop of ancient Caesaria. Excavations include an impressive
amphitheatre and aqueduct. Walk through the fascinating, underground
Roman water system that once fed ancient Caesaria at Alona Park
near Binyamina (strap-on water shoes, small towel needed)
Proceed to Haifa for hotel check-in and welcome dinner

| Tuesday, 30 June - Varieties of Religious Experience in Israel's North

Continue north to Acco. Enter the Old City and visit the British prison,
where Jewish freedom fighters were incarcerated; tour the unique
Tunisian Synagogue, which is completely decorated with mosaics depicting
stories from Jewish history and traditional texts
Take the cable car to the mesmerizing ocean grottos of Rosh Hanikra, at
Israel's border with Lebanon. Enjoy a tour of the synagogues, courtyards,
and shops of the mystical city of Tzefat

Travel through the Golan Heights by jeep (Shvilim), off the beaten

Visit Renanim, a school for special needs children where our congregation
helped refurbish its computer room, destroyed by Hizbullah missiles in
2006. Travel south along Israel's border with Jordan
Stop at the ancient Beit Alpha Synagogue to examine its striking mosaic
floor; enjoy a short, amusing film about plans to renovate this ancient
synagogue two millennia ago (time permitting)
Swim in the wondrous natural pools at Sachne, fed by underground
springs (towel needed) Ascent to Jerusalem
Take in a breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem from Mount

Visit the multi-media Herzl Exhibit, where the Father of Modern
Zionism and his untiring quest are "brought to life" before your eyes (if

Visit the newly-opened state-of-the art Holocaust Memorial Museum and
the Children's Memorial at Yad Vashem (age 12 and up only)

dig through archeological matter that has been dumped into Emek
Tzurim from under the Temple Mount. Free time for lunch (on one's own)

Excavations and take a virtual, computerized "walk" through the
Jerusalem Temple at the Davidson Center. Return to the hotel to rest,

At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the

open-air market, and see modern Tel Aviv in action (time permitting)
Enjoy an impressive presentation of the amazing achievements of the
Palmach at the new multi-media Palmach Museum (if available; age 6 and
over) OR Climb down into the amazing underground, pre-State bullet factory
built by the Haganah under the noses of the British at the Ayalon
Institute. Enjoy a very special dinner, served by deaf waiters, followed
by Na Laga'at, a unique play performed by actors who are both deaf and
blind (not yet included in the tour price)
