| Arrival in Warsaw- meet your ITC tour escort
afternoon tour will include the memorial of the heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto designed by
Natan Rappaport, Anielewicz's bunker, the Umschlagplaz memorial-starting point for the
deportation of Jews to death camps, the Jewish cemetery which survived the Nazi destruction
and Nozyk synagogue in the heart of the prewar Jewish district. In the evening will take

| Tuesday, July 01: The Polish Countryside and Krakow
|
| Early morning departure to drive through the Polish countryside to Krakow and proceed on a
city tour: Kazimierz. District -visit the Jewish ghetto and the Jewish museum, the Rama.
Synagogue and its cemetery ,the Alteshul- Poland's oldest remaining synagogue; see Oscar
Shindler's factory. Dinner and overnight in Krakow. Hotel: Symposium or similar 5*

| Wednesday, July 02: Auschwitz and Birkenau
|
| Early morning departure for the former Nazi
concentration camps, Auschwitz and Birkenau. Visit the museum and see the barracks. On the
way back to Krakow, we will stop at the only remaining synagogue in the town of Oswiecim
(Auschwitz). We leave Poland and cross the border to neighboring Czechoslovakia and continue
to its capital, Prague, for dinner in a kosher restaurant and overnight.Hotel: Intercontinental

| Thursday, July 03: Prague
|
| This morning we start our tour in Jewish Prague; tour of the
old Jewish Quarter including visit of the Jewish Museum and The Old Cemetery, the
"Hamaharal" Alteneushul and Spanish Synagogue. The Jewish Museum:founded in 1906: one of
the first such museums in the world, which has assembled nearly 40.000 Judaica items,
which makes it probably the richest collection in the world. The Old Jewish Cemetery:established
in the mid-15th century, it served as a burial site till 1787. Among 12,000 gothic
renaissance and baroque tombstones are those of Rabbi Jehuda Low (1609) and Mordechai
Maisel (1601) The Altneushul Synagogue:the oldest preserved synagogue in the Central
Europe. It was built in the early gothic style in the late 13th century and richly adorned by
stonework. Also the inside furnishings (gothic wrought-iron grill, wrought chandeliers) are of
ancient origin. Up till now it has served as a house of prayer and the main synagogue of the
Prague Jewish community. Afternoon visit to the Charles Bridge, Hadrani Castle and the
Royal Palace; we will stroll along the ancient alleys of the old town. Free time for dinner (on

| Friday, July 04 - Terezin - Travel to Terezin to visit what the Nazis called the "Model
|
| Concentration Camp" Tour the fortress and the recently discovered Holocaust era secret synagogue
of the Danish Jews (if available) Stop on the way back to Prague to meet with the
Jewish residents of Pilzen or Dechin, Czech towns with modern Jewish life and a restored
liberal synagogue. Kabbalat Shabbat at Prague's Masorti synagogue. Festive Shabbat dinner

Very early morning arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, to be met and assisted by your ITC representative.
Transfer to Tel Aviv for hotel check-in, rest. At Independence Hall, relive Ben
Gurion's moving declaration of the State. Walk though the historic Neve Tzedek neighborhood,
a UNESCO Heritage site, and view its Bauhaus architechture. Enjoy an impressive
presentation of the amazing achievements of the Palmach at the recently opened multi-media
Palmach Museum. Enjoy a Mediterranean swim - Welcome dinner at Maganda Restaurant.

| Monday, July 07 - The Mediterranean Coast. Take part in a VIP tour of the Weitzman

Institute in Rehovot to learn of the impressive accomplishments of Israel's top science university.
Climb down into the amazing underground, pre-State bullet factory built by the
Haganah under the noses of the British at the Ayalon Institute. Walk through the fascinating,
underground Roman water system that once fed ancient Caesaria at Mei Kedem near
Binyamina. See ancient history come to life at the newly-opened multi-media center against
the backdrop of ancient Caesaria. Excavations include an impressive amphitheatre and aqueduct.
Enjoy a delicious fish dinner at Ben Ezra in Atlit. Continue to Haifa for hotel check-in

Maritime Museum. Visit the excellent archeological museum at the Technion, Israel's premier
science/engineering university. Meet with Itamar Levin of the IDF Intelligence Corps to discuss
"Ethical Decisions and the Israeli Military" (if available) Visit the Masorti congregation
of the Krayot and meet with Rabbi Mauricio Balter; hear about the joys and challenges of

Enjoy a visit at Kibbutz Nir Eliyahu and/or Kokhav Yair, once home to Rabbi Goodman (time
permitting) In historic Acco, visit the new exhibit about the years of Muslim rule of the city
at the adjacent Turkish Baths, the British prison, where Jewish freedom fighters were
incarcerated; the amazing Tunisian Synagogue, which is completely decorated with mosaics
depicting stories from Jewish history and traditional texts (# stops depends on timing) Tour
the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of Tzefat; enjoy a family crafts
activity (weaving, beading, paper-making, pottery) in Tzefat's artist colony. Delicious dinner
with klezmer music at the Bar-El Restaurant.

Test your skills at an Israeli shooting range at Kibbutz Ayelet Hashahar
Ascend the Golan Heights and gaze down over the Galilee as the Syrians once did. Travel
back in time as you visit the excavated Talmudic Village in Katzrin, including a light Talmudic
lunch and hands-on activities from ancient times (e.g. mosaics, pottery, milking goats) Glide
down the Jordan River in a kayak or raft. Travel south along Israel's border with Jordan.

Group may split: Early departure for the ascent by cable car to Masada. Tour this impressive
excavation and discuss the terrible dilemma faced by its Jewish population during Roman
times, followed by a dip in the Dead Sea OR Spend some time today at a Dead Sea resort
hotel, enjoying its spa facilities and the amazing Dead Sea. Options for the full group:
Depart Dead Sea Region mid-afternoon to visit the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve OR to take part
in an activity making tekhelet for the tzitzit of the tallit (tekhelet program option not included
in tour price) OR remain at the hotel's spa through mid-afternoon; lunch is included today

Jerusalem. Group may split: In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western Wall's massive
foundation stones OR Go way back in time to King David's Jerusalem in David's City and
enjoy sloshing through Hezekiah's water tunnel (strap-on water shoes and flashlights needed)
Free time for lunch (on one's own) and shopping in the Jewish Quarter. Observe mass at the
Armenian Church (if available) and other Jerusalem churches. Explore the Southern Wall
Excavations and take a virtual, computerized "walk" through the Temple Mount at the
Davidson Center. Dinner at Darna Moroccan Restaurant.

Take a special tour of the Security Fence in the Jerusalem area; meet with IDF Border
Patrol soldiers. Visit the new, state-of-the art Holocaust Memorial Museum and the
Children's Memorial at Yad Vashem (age 12 and up only) [Alternative for younger children
while adults go through Yad Vashem on their own: Visit the children's memorial at Yad
Vashem and the Avenue of the Righteous Gentiles; view the many outdoor sculptures throughout
Yad Vashem with your guide. Visit the multi-media Herzl Exhibit, where the Father of
Modern Zionism and his untiring quest are "brought to life" before your eyes. Free evening in
Jerusalem.

Visit the site of the ancient fortress of Herodian, built by Herod and used by Jewish
fighting forces throughout the ages; also the site of an ancient synagogue and Herod's newly
