Aug 19 - Day 2, Tuesday - When You Come Into the Land - (Deut. 26:1 )
Arrive in Israel to be met and assisted at Ben Gurion airport by your. ITC guide. See the famous Rappaport sculpture, "Scrolls of Fire," an artistic rendition of Jewish and Israeli history. Ascend to Jerusalem and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem, we follow the time honored tradition of entering the city on foot. As we gaze on the most beautiful city in the world, the Golden City of Jerusalem, as a Synagogue family we recite Shehecheyanu. Hotel check-in Welcome restaurant dinner or Barbeque at the hotel

Aug 20 - Day 3, Wednesday - Digging Israel
Stop at the Latrun IDF Armored Corps center to climb on the tanks and to learn about the battles that secured the road to Jerusalem Visit brand new "Mini-Israel," where you can see miniature replicas of a wide variety of sites throughout Israel- those you've seen and those you will want to see next time! We then perform the mitzvah of Planting a tree in Israeli soil, in honor of our Bar and Bat Mitzvah families or in tribute of a loved one. Uncover actual artifacts as you participate in an ongoing archeological dig - the "Dig for a Day" program at Tel Maresha "Cave crawl" also available for the adventurous. Enjoy a pool swim and home hos- pitality with members at Kibbutz Tzora. Then, have dinner with your new kibbutz friends in the dining room

Aug 21 - Day 4, Thursday - Jerusalem of Old
Take part in a moving "Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremony " and or "Wedding Anniversary Celebration Aliyah." at Robinson's Arch (the "Conservative Kotel") The day begins with a drive along the pre-1967 bor- der of Jerusalem, continuing on the historic Mt. Scopus Enter the Old City of Jerusalem via the Zion Gate and walk through the Armenian Quarter. Experience time for prayer and reflection at the Kotel (Western Wall) Kotel Tunnel Tour. Ir David" or the "City of David" as it is known in English, it is the actual location of the Biblical City of Jerusalem captured by King David over 3000 years. Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and take a virtual, computerized "walk" through the Jerusalem Temple at the Davidson Center Dinner at an ITC restaurant -

Aug 22 - Day 5, Friday - Those Who Made a Difference
Visit the unforgettable Memorial Museum and Children's Memorial at The New Yad Vashem. Walk through the haunting Valley of the Communities and participate in a moving "Yizkor" service. At the Har Herzl Military Cemetery honor the memory of Israel's fallen heroes, who have given their lives to establish a secure Jewish homeland. We'll visit the resting places of Theodore Herzl, Golda Meir, and Yitzhak Rabin Or Visit the New Hertzl Museum. Visit the colorful, bustling Machaneh Yehuda open-air market as Jerusalem prepares for Shabbat. Our preparation for Shabbat takes us to the Western Wall for a short Kabbalat Shabbat experience that will live on in your memory for years to come We share in a delicious Shabbat dinner at Fuchsberg Center with a study group

Aug 23 - Day 6, Shabbat - Shabbat in Jerusalem
Shabbat Services at a local Synagogue of your choice ( suggestions and directions will be supplied) Enjoy a sumptuous Shabbat Buffet Lunch at the Hotel. Afternoon optional walking tour - Explore the wonderful fortress that houses the Jerusalem Museum at the Tower of David to learn about the history of Jerusalem throughout the ages. Walk through the colorful Arab shuk (market) and tour the Old City's Jewish Quarter. Reminder of the afternoon at leisure for Shabbat rest or time to visit with family and friends. Meet with Rabbi Mallach to rehearse for our Bar/Bat Mitzvah service Free evening "out on the town" in Jerusalem -

Aug 24 - Day 7, Sunday - Beersheba and the Dead Sea
Travel south to visit Israel's Air force Museum in Beersheba to touch the planes and equipment and to hear the stories of our brave fighting Air force. Drive through Beersheba, the capital of the Negev Desert. Next we visit a Bedouin family in their home, gain a better understanding about their lives. Take a short hike to the Ein Gedi water falls - view Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We spend the rest of the day on the shores of the amazing Dead Sea and enjoying the hotel spa. Dinner at the hotel -

Aug 25 - Day 8, Monday - Freedom Fighters or Fanatics?
Early departure for the ascent by cable car to the mountain fortress of Masada for a tour of this amazing excavation and a discussion of the terri- ble dilemma faced by its Jewish population during Roman times. Join together in Masada's ancient synagogue for a compelling Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony. Continue south to the Timna Copper Mines and the spellbinding King Solomon's Pillars in the Arava Desert. We arrive in Eilat for a deli- cious Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration dinner with music and dancing

Aug 26 - Day 9, Tuesday - Sun and Fun or Optional Day trip to Petra Visit
one of the largest underwater sea-aquariums in the world, built into a coral reef. Then board a luxury touring yacht at the modern Eilat marina for a leisurely cruise and lunch on the Red Sea. Afternoon at leisure to sample the delights of Eilat. Walk the bustling Eilat boardwalk and join in the excitement of the Israeli Riviera! Dinner at leisure

Aug 27 - Day 10, Wednesday - Northern Trails
Our morning flight returns us to north Tel Aviv, where we continue to trav- el via the Sharon Valley. At Kibbutz Ein Shemer, enjoy hands-on activities that simulate the life of Israel's early kibbutz pioneers, such as baking in a wood oven, pitching a tent, building a mosaic floor, solving early kibbutz members' dilemmas, etc. Continue northeast, and stop to swim in the won- drous natural pools at Sachne, fed by underground hot springs. Tour the remarkable excavation of the ancient Roman city of Beit Shean, including a magnificent Cardo, many residences, amphitheatre, etc. Enjoy a Lake Kinneret boat ride followed by a delicious lakeshore dinner at Decks Restaurant

Aug 28 - Day 11, Thursday - Tzefat and the Golan Heights
Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of Tzefat. Gain a deeper understanding of the Golan Heights, as you cross the Jordan River and climb by bus to the Golan. Hear the story of the most expansive land battle in the world, which took place here during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Travel off the beaten track through the Golan by jeep, Optional hike down the Golan in the opposite direction our troupes used to capture the Golan. Optional Wine Tasting Tour visit two or three wineries. Enjoy a terrific lakeshore dinner at the Chinese Pagoda.

Aug 29 - Day 12, Friday - Acco: City of Three Religions
Travel to Acco, where we will visit the site of a spooky Crusader Castle, the new exhibit about the Muslim period at the Turkish Baths, and the amazing Tunisian Synagogue, which is completely decorated with mosaics depicting stories from Jewish history. Travel south to Tel Aviv, and take in the colorful Nahalat Binyamin crafts market or a walk along funky Sheinken Street, the "Greenwich Village" of Israel. Enjoy a delicious Shabbat dinner at the hotel

Aug 30 - Day 13, Shabbat - Shabbat in Tel Aviv
Enjoy a day and evening at leisure in Tel Aviv. Most museums are open.Stroll along Dizengoff Street or into Old Jaffa or just lay in the sun and revisit the land you have just come to know

Aug 31 - Day 14, Sunday - Foundations of the Modern State
Climb down into the amazing underground, pre-State bullet factory built by the Haganah under the noses of the British at the Ayalon Institute At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the State. Visit the Museum of the Diaspora for a special encounter with Jewish com- munities around the world and throughout the ages "Palmach Museum is an experiential museum, covering the Palmach legacy through the stories of individuals and groups. Visitors to the museum join the group of young Palmach recruits from its establishment, and advanced through the story of the Palmach until the end of the War of Independence.
