Wednesday, 1 July - When You Come Into the Land (Deut. 26:1)
Afternoon arrival in Israel, to be met and assisted at Ben Gurion Airport by your ITC representative. Ascent to Jerusalem. Take in a breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem from Mount Scopus. Hotel check-in and welcome dinner.

Thursday, 2 July - Jerusalem of Old - Take part in a moving Adult B'nai
Mitzvah Service at Robinson's Arch, the "Masorti Kotel" Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and take a virtual, computerized "walk" through the Jerusalem Temple at the Davidson Center. In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western Wall's massive foundation stones. Free time for lunch (on one's own) in the Jewish Quarter. Stumble across many archeological finds as you take part in a hands-on dig through archeological matter that has been dumped into Emek Tzurim from under the Temple Mount Free evening in Jerusalem.

Friday, 3 July - Those Who Made a Difference. Visit the multi-media

Sunday, 5 July - Jerusalem and the Hills Surrounding Her
At Ammunition Hill learn about the fierce Six Day War battle for Jerusalem that took place here. Visit the new Shrine of the Book, the recently reopened Second Temple Model of Jerusalem, and the Children's Wing (optional) at the Israel Museum OR Slosh through Hezekiah's Tunnel. Visit the site of the ancient fortress of Herodian, built by Herod and used by Jewish fighting forces throughout the ages; also the site of an ancient synagogue and King Herod's newly discovered tomb. Lunch and olive press tour at the rustic Alpha Café in Tekoa. Enjoy a tour and home hospitality (coffee and cake) in Tekoa, once the home of the biblical prophet, Amos, and now a place where religious and non-religious Jews choose to build their community together; possible meeting with a resident of a nearby Arab village as well. Return to Jerusalem for a free evening

Monday, 6 July - Into the Desert
Early departure to travel south into the Negev Desert Visit Ben Gurion's Hut in Sde Boker for personal insight into the life of this outstanding Zionist leader and Israel's first prime minister Walk through the beautiful nature reserve at the Ein Avdat oasis At the Great Crater, stop to make colored sand bottles from the vari-colored sand along the crater's slopes. Enjoy lunch with the Chefs of Yeruham, followed by a desert Torah study program at the Bamidbar Desert Institute. Enjoy a camel trek through the desert and a delicious dinner and Bedouin hospitality (kosher of course!) in a Bedouin tent

Optional: Very early departure to climb Masada by the snake path Ascend Masada by cable car. Wednesday, 8 July - The Golan Heights
Travel through the Golan Heights and stop to gaze down over the Galilee as the Syrians once did. Stop briefly to check how your compass is working at a paleo-magnetic park near Kibbutz Merom Golan Take a nature walk through the scenic Saluki Springs for a view of ruins of both a Hasmonean village and a Syrian army encampment; dip your toes in cool natural waters. Ascend to the peak of Har Bental, where you can enter army bunkers and take in a panoramic view at the crossroads of three countries. Glide down the Jordan River in a kayak or raft. Thursday, 9 July - The Jordan River and Beit Shean Valleys
At the picturesque Kinneret Cemetery, read the moving poetry of the pioneer, Rachel the Poetess, and sing the songs of Naomi Shemer, first lady of Israeli song. Travel along Israel's border with Jordan to the Beit Shean Valley. Tour the remarkable ancient Roman city of Beit Shean, where Rabbi Sherwood participated in the excavation, including a magnificent Cardo, many residences, and amphitheatre. Swim in the wondrous natural pools at Sachne, fed by underground springs (towel needed) Free evening on the Tiberias boardwalk. Friday, 10 July - Varieties of Religious Expression
Stop at the grave of Honi HaMa'agel, near Rosh Pina Enjoy a tour of the synagogues, courtyards, and alleyways of the mystical city of Tzefat. Travel to the peak of Mt. Carmel in Haifa and take in the breathtaking view of the Bahai Gardens and of the Mediterranean Sea. Visit the Druze town of Dalyat al Karmel and browse in its colorful ethnic market. Travel south to Tel Aviv. Hotel check-in to prepare for Shabbat - Kabbalat Shabbat on the beach with Rabbi Sherwood. Delicious Shabbat dinner at the hotel.
