| Wednesday, 8 July - Layers of History
|
At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration
of the State. Depart for Israel's north
Walk through the fascinating, underground Roman water system
that once fed ancient Caesaria at Alona Park near
Binyamina (strap-on water shoes, small towel needed)
Take the cable car to the mesmerizing ocean grottos of Rosh
Hanikra, at Israel's border with Lebanon
Continue to the Galilee for hotel check-in and dinner

| Thursday, 9 July - The Golan Heights - 17 Tammuz

Travel through Golan trails by jeep, off the beaten track, and
stop to gaze down over the Galilee as the Syrians once did
At Kibbutz El Rom, see original footage from the brave Valley
of Tears Kahalani battle, which secured the Golan Heights
during the Yom Kippur War. Travel back in time as you visit
the excavated Talmudic Village in Katzrin
Glide down the Jordan River in a kayak or raft

|
Take part in a moving Bar/Bat Mitzvah service at Robinson's
Arch. Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and take a virtual
"tour" of the ancient Temple Mount at the Davidson
Center. In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western
Wall's massive foundation stones. Free time for lunch (on
one's own) and shopping in the Cardo. Visit Yad Sarah, a
facility that provides free medical supplies for those in need;
assist volunteers there in constructing walkers for patients

| Tuesday, 14 July - Jerusalem Then and Now
|
Visit Lifeline for the Old, a moving crafts workshop that
employs Jerusalem elderly. Enjoy shopping for unique handcrafted
Judaica items in their store. Stumble across many
archeological finds as you take part in a hands-on dig through
archeological matter that has been dumped into Emek Tzurim
from under the Temple Mount. At Ammunition Hill learn about
the fierce Six Day War battle for Jerusalem that took place
here. At the Israel Museum, tour the new Shrine of the Book
and the recently reopened Second Temple Model of Jerusalem;
children's wing also available. Free evening in Jerusalem

| Wednesday, 15 July - Partners in Israel
|
Depart for Israel's south. Stop to plant a tree in Israeli soil
in honor or in memory of a loved one. At Tel Azeka, stand on
the cliffs where the Philistines camped during the battle
between David and Goliath. Gaze down over the battleground
and review (or act out) the biblical story on site. Spend some
time in or Partnership 2000 region of Hof Ashkelon, including
lunch with residents (lunch and programming to be
arranged/hosted by the P2K) Continue to the Dead Sea Region
for hotel check-in.

| Thursday, 16 July - Freedom Fighters or Fanatics?
|
| Early departure for the ascent by cable car to Masada. Tour
this impressive excavation and discuss the terrible dilemma
faced by its Jewish population during Roman times; take part
in a moving Bar/Bat Mitzvah service atop Masada
Additional Fee for those who wish to climb Massada, requiring
a special bus for the 4am departure to the mountain. Those
who climb Massada to see the sun rise, will wait on the mountain
until the rest of the group arrives via the first cable car,
departing at 8am) Descend Masada by the Roman Ramp and
proceed to Nokdim camel ranch for a desert camel trek and
Bedouin lunch and hospitality. Return to our hotel to enjoy its
spa facilities and the amazing Dead Sea. Farewell dinner in
Olive and Fish Restaurant Depart for the airport
