Wednesday, 24 December - USA Departure
Departure on overnight flight to Israel.  
Thursday, 25 December - When You Come Into the Land (Deut.26:1)
Morning arrival in Israel, to be met and assisted at Ben Gurion Airport by your ITC representative. At the "Dig for a Day" program at Beit Guvrin, have a hands-on experience of archeology as you uncover actual artifacts, taking part in an actual archeological dig; "cave crawl" also available for the adventurous OR In-depth tour of Beit Guvrin excavations. Enjoy a picnic at the JNF Forest (box lunch). Plant a tree as a family in Israeli soil in honor or in memory of a loved one. Drive through the modern city of Modi'in. Light the 5th Hanukkah candle - Ascent to Jerusalem and take in a breathtaking view of the Old City from the Tayelet. Hotel check-in and welcome dinner.

Friday, 26 December - Freedom Fighters or Fanatics?
Travel south for the ascent by cable car to Masada. Tour this amazing excavation and discuss the terrible dilemma faced by its Jewish population during Roman times. Stop for a dip in the amazing Dead Sea. Pass by the caves of Qumran, home of the mysterious ancient sect that authored the Dead Sea scrolls. Return to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat. Light the 6th Hanukkah candle and Shabbat candles. Kabbalat Shabbat with Rabbi in the Old City of Jerusalem. Festive Shabbat dinner at the Fuchsberg Center, to be joined by some cantorial/rabbinical students.

Shabbat, 27 December - Shabbat Hannukah in Jerusalem
Parashat Miketz. Rosh Chodesh Tevet. Shabbat Services at a synagogue of your choice (suggestions, walking instructions to be provided). Sumptuous Shabbat lunch buffet at the hotel. Shabbat afternoon walking tour - Havdalah with Rabbi Wolintz- Fields. Light the 7th Hanukkah candle. Free evening in Jerusalem.

Sunday, 28 December - Jerusalem of Old
Take part in Morning Services at Robinson's Arch, the "Conservative Kotel". Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and take a virtual, computerized "walk" through the Jerusalem Temple at the Davidson Center. Meet Father Packrot of Jerusalem's Armenian community. Travel through many centuries in a guided exploration of the Jewish Quarter, including entrance to the Herodian Mansions. Light the 8th Hanukkah candle - Free time for dinner. Evening option: In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western Wall's massive foundation stones.

Monday, 29 December - Those Who Made a Difference
Visit Lifeline for the Old, Yad L'Kashish, a moving crafts workshop that employs Jerusalem elderly. Enjoy shopping for unique hand-crafted Judaica items in their store OR Admire the beautiful Chagall Windows at Hadassah Hospital. Visit the multimedia Herzl Exhibit, where the Father of Modern Zionism and his untiring quest are "brought to life" before your eyes (if available). Tour the newly-opened state-of-the art Holocaust Memorial Museum (age 12 and over only), Children's Memorial, and Valley of the Communities at Yad Vashem. Alternative for younger children: At the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, enjoy meeting the animals that roamed this land during Bible times (accompanied by adult/s). Visit colorful, bustling Machaneh Yehuda open-air market, Dinner at Olive and Fish Restaurant.

Tuesday, 30 December - The Jordan River Valley
Travel north along Israel's border with Jordan. Ascend the Golan Heights and stop to gaze down over the Galilee, as the Syrians once did. Travel back in time as you visit the excavated Talmudic Village in Katzrin, including a hands-on workshop (available activities include: milking goats, making olive oil, mosaics, making an oil lamp, etc.) Ascend to the peak of Har Bental, where you can enter army bunkers and take in a panoramic view at the crossroads of three countries OR Taste the fruits of the region in the form of award-winning wines at the Golan Winery. Hotel check-in and dinner.

Wednesday, 31 December - In the Footsteps of Mystics and Pioneers
Tour the magnificently excavated ancient city of Tzippori, home to Rabbi Judah the Prince; explore the site via an enjoyable ITC "Site Detectives" program. Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of Tzefat. Optional: Take part in a special Jewish handicrafts program for families (choice of weaving, beadwork, paper-making, pottery; not included in tour price). Free time for Shopping in Tzefat. Dinner (on one's own) on the Tiberias promenade.

Thursday, 1 January - The First Hebrew City
At Kibbutz Ein Shemer, enjoy hands-on activities that simulate the life of Israel's early kibbutz pioneers, such as baking bread in a wood-burning oven, pitching a tent, building a mosaic floor, solving early kibbutz members' dilemmas, etc. Continue south to Tel Aviv. Enjoy an impressive presentation of the amazing achievements of the Palmach at the recently opened multi-media Palmach Museum (age 5 and up only; if available). At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the State. Stop at Rabin Square to discuss the life of this outstanding Israeli leader. Free evening in Tel Aviv.

Friday, 2 January - Foundations of the Modern State
Climb down into the amazing underground, pre-State bullet factory built by the Haganah under the noses of the British at the Ayalon Institute. At the Masorti Youth Village of Neve Hana in Kiryat Gat, see the tremendously heartwarming work carried out there with children who have no other home. Explore the alleyways, art galleries, and market stalls of Old Jaffa, once the gateway to Eretz Yisrael AND/OR Shop for unique craft items in Nachalat Binyamin's colorful, open-air market, and see modern Tel Aviv in action. Kabbalat Shabbat on the beach with Rabbi Wolintz-Fields. Delicious Shabbat dinner at the hotel.
