Friday, 6 August - Foundations of the Modern State
Climb down into the amazing underground, pre-State bullet factory built by the Haganah under the noses of the British at the Ayalon Institute. Enjoy an impressive presentation of the amazing achievements of the Palmach at the new multi-media Palmach Museum (if available) OR At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the State. Browse through unique craft items in Nachalat Binyamin's colorful, open-air market, and see modern Tel Aviv in action. Proceed to the sparkling port city of Haifa for hotel checkin. Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of Tzefat. Meet with Tzefat kabalistic artist, Avraham Lowenthal, in his gallery to explore Jewish mysticism through the prism of his creations. Glide down the Jordan River tributaries in a kayak at Kibbutz Kfar Blum (age 5 or over) Visit the Naot Sandal factory and perhaps take home some of this classic Israeli footwear. Monday, 9 August - The Golan Heights
