Tuesday, 26 March – Pesach in Jerusalem
Walk into the Old City on foot, as our ancestors did for
the three pilgrimage festivals. Visit the Kotel, where
the ancient Temple once stood and the holiest site to
Judaism today. Continue our walking tour through the
Jewish quarter, the colorful Arab shuk (market) and the
Old City’s Christian, Armenian, and Moslem Quarters.
Free time to rest and swim. Late afternoon walking tour

Wednesday, 27 March – Foundations of the Modern State
Depart for Tel Avi. At Independence Hall, relive Ben
Gurion’s moving declaration of the State. Enjoy an
impressive presentation of the amazing achievements of
the Palmach at the multi-media Palmach Museum. At
Rabin Square discuss this great Israeli leader and some
of the pressing issues facing Israel today. Take part in
a special walking tour of Old Jaffa, conducted by Beit
Daniel: “Co-Existence,” which is led by both Arab and
Jewish guides working together. Return to Jerusalem for
a free evening

Thursday, 28 March – Jerusalem of Old
Take part in a moving Bar/Bat Mitzvah service at
Robinson’s Arch. Explore the Southern Wall Excavations
and learn more about the ancient Jerusalem Temple at
the Davidson Center. In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside
the Western Wall’s massive foundation stones.
Lunch (on one’s own) and shopping in the Jewish
Quarter. Travel through many centuries in walking tour
through the Jewish Quarter. Stop at the Knesset
Menorah for a “Kodak moment” and a view of Israel’s
center of government. Attend The Night Spectacular,
the fabulous new sound and light show at the Tower of
David Museum

Friday, 29 March – Digging Israel
At the “Dig for a Day” program at Beit Guvrin, have a
hands-on experience of archeology as you uncover actual
artifacts while taking part in an ongoing archeological
dig; “cave crawl” also available for the adventurous
Plant a tree in Israeli soil in honor or in memory of a
loved one; share something about the person in whose
honor/memory you are planting with the rest of the
group at Aminadav Forest. Walk through colorful,
bustling Machane Yehuda open-air market as Jerusalem
prepares for Shabbat (time permitting) Friday night
services at Kol Haneshama Shabbat dinner at the hotel

Tuesday, 2 April – Ancient Masada
Hotel check-out - Early departure for the lowest place
on earth, the Dead Sea Region. Ascend Masada by
cable car or the Snake Path. Tour this impressive excavation
and discuss the terrible dilemma faced by its
Jewish population during Roman times. Descend Masada
by the Roman Ramp. Enjoy a camel trek through the
desert and a delicious lunch and Bedouin hospitality in a
Bedouin tent at Kfar HaNokdim. Stop for a dip, mud
baths, and good hot showers at the amazing Dead Sea
Return to Jerusalem for a farewell dinner at Olive and
