Sunday February 28 Overnight Miami Airport hotel (Guest speaker will confirm)

Monday February 29 – Miami- Cienfuego – (D)

  • Departure from Miami to Cuba
  • Arrival in Cienfuegos where we will meet our guide and bus driver from Havana Tours who will be traveling with us during our stay in Cuba. Check-in approx. 3:00 PM at Hotel Jagua
  • Afternoon tour of Cienfuegos which was founded by French immigrants from Bordeaux and Louisiana in 1819. The tour will include the Thomas Terry Theater, the bay of Cienfuegos and Palacio del Valle – an impressive Moorish-style building
  • Evening performance by the Cienfuegos Choir
  • Welcome dinner at Palacio del Valle; overnight Hotel Jagua

Tuesday March 1- Cienfuegos – Trinidad – Cienfuegos (B, L, D)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Travel to Trinidad which was founded on 1514 and it is one of the best preserved colonial cities in the Caribbean from the time when the sugar trade was the main industry in the region
  • Visit to Plaza Mayor, the historic center of the town, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1988.The buildings surrounding the central square date from the 18th and 19th centuries when trade in sugar and slaves brought riches to the area.
  • Lunch (TBA)
  • Return to Cienfuegos; attend a performance by the children of La Colmenita. La Colmenita was developed with the purpose of conveying a message of peace, humanity and forgiveness. As official UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, the children of La Colmenita are required to demonstrate these values not only in their performances but in their daily lives
  • Dinner at Club Cienfuegos & meeting the small Jewish Community of Cienfuegos (TBA) ; overnight Hotel Jagua

Wednesday March 2 – Cienfuegos – Havana ((B, L)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Drive to Havana (4 ½ hours)
  • Stop in Santa Clara (1 ½ hour drive), and meet the members of the Jewish Community
  • Lunch at restaurant La Granjita
  • Check in at hotel Melia Cohiba, Havana
  • Dinner at the hotel or paladar on your own; your guide will recommend and assist with reservations; overnight Melia Cohiba

Thursday March 3- Havana (B, L)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Walking tour of Old Havana
  • Lunch at Dona Eutimia
  • Visit the Beth Shalom synagogue and learn about the history of Judaism in Cuba.
  • Visit studio of José Rodríguez Fuster, a Cuban naïve artist specializing in ceramics, painting, drawing, engraving, and graphic design
  • Dinner on your own; your guide will recommend and assist with reservations; overnight Melia Cohiba

Friday March 4 – Havana (B, L, D)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Visit the Cigar factory and Finca Vigia (Hemingway’s home) located in the outskirts of the city.
  • Lunch at private restaurant El Divino. This restaurant is located on an organic farm.
  • Visit the Sephardic Synagogue and meet with President Mayra Levi.
  • 6:00PM Services at Patronato
  • Dinner at the hotel ; overnight Melia Cohiba

Saturday March 5 Havana (B, L)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Morning services available at Patronato
  • Lunch at hotel
  • Explore the city, interact with residents to learn about their daily lives or relax at the hotel
  • Dinner on your own; your guide will recommend and assist with reservations; overnight Melia Cohiba

Sunday March 6 – Havana (B, L, D)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • City tour of Modern Havana
  • Museum of Fine Arts
  • Lunch at private restaurant Starbien in Vedado
  • National ballet performance (optional; additional fee)
  • Farewell dinner at private restaurant L’atelier; overnight Melia Cohiba

Monday March 28 – Havana Miami (B)

Transfer to the airport after breakfast for non-stop charter flight back to Mia
