Depart for Newark Airport for overnight flight to Israel  
Wednesday, December 23 - When You Come Into the Land
Morning arrival (9:15 am) in Israel, to be met and assisted by your ITC representative at Ben Gurion Airport (today's programming depends on arrival time) Put down roots immediately as you plant a tree as a family in Israeli soil in honor or in memory of a loved one At the Latrun IDF Armored Corps center, review (or climb on) the tanks and learn about battles fought there for the road to Jerusalem. Ascent to Jerusalem Take in a breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem from the Tayelet. Hotel check-in. Welcome dinner at the hotel

Thursday, December 24 - Jerusalem of Old
Stop to visit the Western Wall - In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western Wall's massive foundation stones. Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and take a virtual, computerized "walk" through the Jerusalem Temple at the Davidson Center. Take in a rooftop view of the Old City's four colorful quarters and then travel though many centuries as you tour the Jewish Quarter Free time for shopping in the Cardo - Free evening in Jerusalem

Friday, December 25 - Those Who Made a Difference
Visit the newly-opened state-of-the art Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Children's Memorial at Yad Vashem. Alternative for younger children: At the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, enjoy meeting the animals that roamed this land during Bible times (latter accompanied by adult/s and not included in tour price) Enjoy the multi-media Herzl Exhibit, where the Father of Modern Zionism and his untiring quest are "brought to life" before your eyes (if available) Visit the colorful, bustling Machaneh Yehuda open-air market, as Jerusalem prepares for Shabbat (time permitting) Kabbalat Shabbat at Kol Haneshama Shabbat dinner at the hotel with a speaker (private room; honorarium, if any, not included in tour price)

Shabbat, December 26 - Shabbat in Jerusalem
Shabbat services at HUC Synagogue, followed by a kiddush Shabbat lunch at Beit Shmuel - Shabbat walking tour of fascinating Jerusalem neighborhoods near the hotel. Havdala with Rabbi Milgrim evening out on Ben Yehuda, Emek Refaim, or the new Mamilla Mall (on one's own)

Sunday, December 27 - Tikkun Olam
At the Israel Museum, tour the new Shrine of the Book and the recently reopened Second Temple Model of Jerusalem; children's wing also available. Spend some time this morning preparing packages for Israeli soldiers, including a meeting with soldiers who come to pick them up (based on availability) Visit some interesting Jerusalem neighborhoods and meet the people who live in them with Rabbis for Human Rights. Meet with Ethiopian immigrants at an absorption center. Free evening in Jerusalem

Monday, December 28 - Freedom Fighters or Fanatics?
Depart for the Dead Sea region Ascend Masada by cable car and take part in a moving Bar/Bat Mitzvah service there; tour this impressive excavation and discuss the terrible dilemma faced by its Jewish population during Roman times; descend Masada by the Roman Ramp Take a camel trek through the desert and enjoy a delicious lunch and Bedouin hospitality in a Bedouin tent. Travel to the Golan Heights, and stop to gaze down over the Galilee as the Syrians once did. Group may split: Enjoy a tour and winetasting at the Golan Winery OR Ascend to the peak of Har Bental, where you can enter army bunkers and take in a panoramic view at the crossroads of three countries.
