Sunday, 12 June - USA Departure

Overnight flight to Israel

Monday, 13 June - When You Come Into the Land (Deut. 26:1)

Arrive in Israel, to be met and assisted at Ben Gurion Airport by your ITC representative Put down roots immediately as you plant a tree in Israeli soil as a family in honor or in memory of a loved one. Proceed to the modern Hebrew city of Tel Aviv Hotel check-in followed by time for a Mediterranean swim and a welcome dinner.

Tuesday, 14 June - Foundations of the Modern State

At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the State. Browse through unique craft items in Nahalat Binyamin's colorful, open-air market and enjoy seeing modern Tel Aviv in action. Return to the hotel to rest, swim OR Optional tour of Old Jaffa. Enjoy dinner at Cafe Kappish, served by deaf waiters who will teach you sign language during your meal followed by Na Laga'at, a unique play performed by actors who are both deaf and blind (this could be a night out for parents with pizza party on the beach/boardwalk with responsible, mature, fun-loving youth counselors).

Wednesday, 15 June - The Mediterranean Coast

Walk through the fascinating, underground Roman water system that once fed ancient aesaria at Alona Park near Binyamina (strap-on water shoes, small towel needed) At Kibbutz Ein Shemer, enjoy hands-on group activities that simulate the life of Israel's early kibbutz pioneers, such as baking bread in their original wood-burning oven, pitching a tent, building a mosaic floor, and solving early kibbutz members' dilemmas. Meet members of Israel's Druze community in Dalyat al Karmel, shop in their colorful market, hear about their fierce patriotism, and enjoy their warm hospitality Proceed to the Galilee Region, pausing for a beautiful view over Lake Kinneret. Thursday, 16 June - Tzefat and the Golan Heights

Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and alleyways of the mystical city of Tzefat, including a visit to the candle factory outlet store and free time for shopping Travel through the Golan Heights by jeep, off the beaten path, and stop to gaze down over the Galilee, as the Syrians once did; enter former Syrian bunkers and learn how master spy, Eli Cohen, revealed their secrets Glide down the Jordan River in a kayak (age 6 and up only) Free evening on the Tiberias Promenade

Friday, 17 June-Jordan River Valley and Ascent to Jerusalem

Travel south along Israel's border with Jordan Stop at the ancient Beit Alpha Synagogue to examine its striking mosaic floor; enjoy a short, amusing film about plans to renovate this ancient synagogue two millennia ago Swim in the wondrous natural pools at Sachne, fed by underground springs. Ascent to Jerusalem Gaze upon the Old City of Jerusalem from Mount Scopus or the Mount of Olives. Visit colorful, bustling Machaneh Yehuda open-air market, as Jerusalem prepares for Shabbat (time permitting) Hotel check-in - Kabbalat Shabbat at Robinson's Arch or a choice of neighborhood synagogues Shabbat dinner at the hotel

TTake part in a moving Bar/Bat Mitzvah service at Robinson's Arch. Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and learn more about the ancient Temple at the Davidson Center Free time for lunch (on one's own) in the Cardo and Jewish Quarter with an optional tour of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Tour David's City, the most ancient section of Jerusalem, built by King David, including recent excavations and the new 3-D presentation. In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western Wall's massive foundation stones Adults evening out: Attend The Night Spectacular, the fabulous new sound and light show at the Tower of David Museum, with free time for dinner (on one's own) at the new Mamilla Mall; children will be cared for by youth counselor (additional counselors/babysitters as needed)

AAt Ammunition Hill, see former Jordanian bunkers and a terrific new audio-video presentation; learn about the fierce Six Day War battle for Jerusalem that took place here Visit the newly-opened state-of-the art Holocaust Memorial Museum (age 12 and up only), Children's Memorial, and Valley of the Communities at Yad Vashem; At the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, enjoy meeting the animals that roamed this land during Bible times (accompanied by our counselor and adult/s from our group; not included in tour price) Take in a special multi-media presentation about the life, dreams, and accomplishments of the Father of Modern Zionism at the Herzl Exhibit (if available) Group dinner at Luigi's (Italian)

Tuesday, 21 June - Freedom Fighters or Fanatics?/p>

Early departure for the ascent by cable car to Masada. Tour this impressive excavation and discuss the terrible dilemma faced by its Jewish population during Roman times Enjoy a walk through the beautiful Ein Gedi Nature Reserve and review the biblical story of kings David and Saul "on site" Stop for mud baths and an unsinkable swim at the amazing Dead Sea. At Eretz Bereshit, enjoy camel rides and a biblical dinner in Abraham's tent in the Judean desert

Wednesday, 22 June - Digging Israel

Stumble across many authentic archeological finds in a handson dig through archeological matter that has been dumped into Emek Tzurim from under the Temple Mount At the Latrun IDF Armored Corps center, review (or climb on) the tanks and learn about battles fought there for the road to Jerusalem. Visit "Mini-Israel" and see miniature replicas of a wide variety of sites throughout Israel - those you've seen and those you will want to see next time!. Return to Jerusalem for final shopping, packing.
