Arrive in Israel to be met and assisted by your ITC representative. Tour the alleys of Old Jaffa, the ancient port city once known as the Gate of Zion. The Hebrew City and the Jewish State

Travel to the northern Negev. Visit the memorial site and museum at Yad Mordechai and hear about this border kibbutz’s valiant stand against the Egyptian army during the War of Independence. Tour Sderot, a town that until summer 2014 had been the target of numerous rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip, to hear about life on the Gaza border. Lunch on own. Guided tour of Israeli Air Force Museum at Hatzerim to see exhibition of historic Israeli Air Force planes and hear the story of this elite branch of the Israel Defense Forces. Return to Tel Aviv. Late afternoon walking tour of historic “Little Tel Aviv” – Discover the quaint Neve Tzeddek neighborhood that gave birth to the “first Hebrew city in 2,000 years”. Dinner on own. Cradles of Jewish Civilization in the Galilee

Travel through 2,000 years of Jewish history at Beit Hatfutzot – The recently renovated Museum of the Diaspora. Depart for northern Israel. Visit Zichron Yaakov, an early Zionist pioneering community. At Beit Aaronsohn discover the story of the Nili spies – A Jewish espionage ring that worked for the British during World War One. Lunch on own. Travel to Rosh Hanikra in the northwest corner of Israel. Descend by cablecar to tour the Grottos of Rosh Hanikra – Beautiful sea caves formed by the forces of wind and water. Travel to the Galilee Panhandle and check-in to Kibbutz Kfar Blum Hotel. Dinner at hotel. Overnight: Kfar Blum

Ancient and Modern Geopolitics and Israel’s Finest

Meet young Israeli soldiers defending Israel’s northern border near Kibbutz Malkiya and plant a tree to help renew its orchard. Hike through the Banias Nature Reserve, one of the sources of the Jordan River, to its magnificent waterfall. Lunch on own. Tour and tasting at the Golan Heights Winery in Katzrin. Travel to Gamla in the southern Golan Heights – “Masada of the North” and, hopefully, see magnificent griffon vultures soaring overhead. Return to hotel. Dinner at hotel. Overnight: Kfar Blum

Ethiopian Israeli Encounter and Shabbat in Jerusalem

Discover Ethiopian Jewish culture at the Gemarchin Center in Beit Shean. Hear our hosts personal aliyah story and learn about the challenges facing the Ethiopian Israeli community today. Continue south through the Jordan Valley and ascend to Jerusalem. Shekhiyanu/Welcome ceremony overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem. Check-in to Dan Panorama Hotel, Jerusalem. Free time to relax and prepare for Shabbat. Friday/Shabbat evenings options: Join hundreds of other Jews from around the world to Greet the Shabbat at the Western Wall. Late afternoon walking tour to the historic Montefiore Windmill to discover the first neighbourhood built outside the walls of the Old City. Havdalah with Rabbi Katz. Tisha B’av Day: Holocaust, Remembrance and Continuity

Guided tour of Yad Vashem – Israel’s national Holocaust memorial and museum, including the Historical Museum and Children‛s Memorial. Meaningful visit to the Mt. An Ancient Jewish Legacy – Ancient Jerusalem touring options for the group: Explore the City of David using the Bible and archaeology to make Jerusalem’s stones tell the story of the city’s ancient past. AND/OR: Discover the archaeological story of the Western Wall and episodes from rabbinic texts while standing where Jewish pilgrims walked 2,000 years ago at Robinson’s Arch and the Southern Wall Excavations. Tour of the Menachem Begin Museum to view its multimedia presentation on the history of Israel as seen through the life and times of Menachem Begin. Visit Ketef Hinom – An antiquities site on the grounds of the Begin Museum where archaeologists discovered the oldest biblical text ever found. Ride along the former Israeli-Jordanian ceasefire lines to Ammuition Hill to hear about the toughest battle of the Six Day War. Lunch on own. Walking tour of the Christian Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem, including Jaffa Gate, part of the Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Free evening. Dinner on own.
