Visit the amazing underground, pre-State bullet factory built by the Palmach under the noses of the British at the Ayalon Institute, near Rehovot Browse through unique craft items in Nahalat Binyamins colorful, open-air market, and see modern Tel Aviv in action, including free time for a kosher falafel lunch (on ones own) Hotel check-in, Mediterranean swim, rest Welcome dinner at Maganda in the Yemenite Quarter

Wednesday, 18 August - Layers of History

Travel to Israels north Walk through the fascinating, underground Roman water system that once fed ancient Caesaria at Alona Park near Binyamina (strap-on water shoes, small towel needed) Take a panoramic bus tour of the sparkling port city of Haifa, including views of the spectacular Bahai Gardens Take the cable car to the mesmerizing ocean grottos of Rosh Hanikra, at Israels border with Lebanon Hotel check-in and dinner. Travel through the Golan Heights and stop to gaze down over the Galilee as the Syrians once did Travel back to the time of the Talmud as you visit the excavated Talmudic Village in Katzrin Lunch (on ones own) in Katzrin Travel down Jordan River tributaries in a kayak Visit the grave of the Rambam in Tiberias Free time for dinner (on ones own) on the Tiberias promenade. Enjoy a boat ride on the Kinneret (from Ginnosar)

Friday, 20 August - In the Footsteps of Jewish Mystics and Ascent to Jerusalem

Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of Tzefat. Meet with a Tzefat kabbalistic artist in his gallery to explore Jewish mysticism through the prism of his creations. Stop for a swim at the wondrous natural pools of Gan Hashlosha (time permitting; towel needed) Travel south for the ascent to Jerusalem Say shehechianu as you take in the breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Hotel check-in to prepare for Shabbat. Kabbalat Shabbat at the Kotel Shabbat dinner at the hotel.

Tuesday, 24 August - Freedom Fighters or Fanatics?

First-time Israel travelers. Early departure to for the ascent to Masada by cable car. Tour this amazing excavation and discuss the terrible dilemma faced by its Jewish population during Roman times.
