Overnight flight to Israel
Morning arrival (ideally) in Israel, to be met and assisted at Ben Gurion Airport by your ITC representative. Take part in the mitzvah of leket at the Table to Table project as you harvest crops for the needy. Proceed to the modern Hebrew city of Tel Aviv. Browse through unique craft items in Nahalat Binyamin's colorful, open-air market, and see modern Tel Aviv in action. Hotel check-in to prepare for Shabbat. Shabbat services at Masorti congregation Kehilat Sinai. Afternoon at leisure to relax at the beach or explore Tel Aviv and Old Jaffa on one's own, including free Israeli dancing on the boardwalk

At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the State. Enjoy an impressive presentation of the amazing achievements of the Palmach at the multi-media Palmach Museum (if available) At the "Dig for a Day" program at Beit Guvrin, uncover actual artifacts as you participate in an ongoing archeological dig. Spelunking (cave crawling) also available for the adventurous. Proceed to the Lake Kinneret region for a breathtaking overview. Hotel check-in and dinner (restaurants are closed this evening)
Overnight: Kibbutz Lavi Hotel, Tiberias
Take a lovely nature walk through the lush forests and streams of the Banias Nature Reserve Ascend the Golan Heights, and stop to gaze down over the Galilee as the Syrians once did; enter former Syrian bunkers and learn how master spy, Eli Cohen, revealed their secrets. At Kibbutz El Rom, see original footage from the brave Valley of Tears Kahalani battle, which secured the Golan Heights during the Yom Kippur War. Travel through the Golan Heights by jeep, off the beaten track, and learn how Golan water sources have played a central role in military conflict in the region (Shvilim) Return to the hotel to rest. Evening: Participate in joyous celebrations in Tiberias as Yom Hazikkaron gives way to Yom Ha'atzmaut; dinner on one's own
Overnight: Kibbutz Lavi Hotel, Tiberias
Yom Ha'atzmaut - Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of Tzefat, with a special emphasis on the role of this city in attaining Israel's independence. Take part in Yom Ha'atzmaut festivities with our Partnership 2000 region of Afula/Gilboa (picnic? bbq? tiyyul? - programming to be arranged by P2K) Enjoy a familyfriendly water hike in the Galilee. Take a relaxing Kinneret boat ride (from Ginnosar) OR Visit an army base (to be arranged through American Friends of the IDF)

Travel south along Israel's border with Jordan Ascend Masada by cable car; tour this impressive excavation and discuss the terrible dilemma faced by its Jewish population during Roman times Enjoy a dip, mud baths, and good showers at Mineral Beach on the amazing Dead Sea. At Eretz Bereshit, enjoy camel rides and a biblical dinner in Abraham's tent in the Judean desert. Ascent to Jerusalem

Bar/Bat Mitzvah service at Robinson's Arch, the "Masorti Kotel". Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and take a virtual, computerized "walk" through the ancient Temple Mount at the Davidson Center. In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the massive foundation stones of the Western Wall Free time for lunch (on one's own) and shopping in the Jewish Quarter. Go way back in time to King David's Jerusalem in David's City and enjoy sloshing through Hezekiah's water tunnel (strap-on water shoes and flashlights needed) Evening: Attend The Night Spectacular, the fabulous new sound and light show at the Tower of David Museum, followed by free time for dinner (on one's own) at the new Mamilla Mall
Overnight: David Citadel Hotel, Jerusalem
Spend some time helping those less fortunate as a volunteer. Visit the new Holocaust Memorial Museum (age 12 and up only) and the Children's Memorial at Yad Vashem. Visit colorful, bustling Machaneh Yehuda open-air market, as Jerusalem prepares for Shabbat. Kabbalat Shabbat at Robinson's Arch or at a synagogue of your choice. Delicious Shabbat dinner at the hotel
