Wednesday, 22 June

Arrive in Israel to be met and assisted by your ITC representative at Ben Gurion Airport. Visit a community center serving the Ethiopian Israeli community in Ramla. Hear their personal immigration stories and learn about the challenges facing their community. Participate in a traditional Buna (coffee) ceremony (Visit dependent on arrival time and minimum number of participants). Ascend to Jerusalem. Shekhianu-Welcome ceremony at the Haas Promenade, where we take in a breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Check-in to Dan Panorama Hotel, Jerusalem. Welcome dinner at Anna Ticho House.

Thursday, 23 June

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Celebrate a moving B’nai Mitzvah ceremony at the Robinson’s Arch. Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and take a virtual, computerized “walk” through the Temple Mount at the Davidson Center. In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western Wall‛s massive foundation stones. Enjoy free time for lunch (on one’s own) and shopping in the Cardo. Visit the Herodian Mansion, an excavated 2000-year- old luxury home and the recently rebuilt Hurva Synagogue, once the Great Synagogue of Jerusalem. Free evening in Jerusalem

Friday, 24 June

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Tour of Yad Vashem Israel’s national Holocaust memorial and museum, including the Historical Museum and Children‛s Memorial. (Children under age 10 are not permitted in Yad Vashem’s historical museum). Alternative for younger children: At the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, enjoy meeting the animals that roamed this land during Bible times. Take a sobering walk through the history of the Jewish State at the Har Herzl Military Cemetery. Explore the raucous Machane Yehuda Market and take in a slice of local life as you see Jerusalemites prepare for Shabbat. See the picturesque Nachalaot neighborhoods along the way. Return to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat. Shabbat dinner at the hotel. Kabbalat Shabbat at the Kotel or a synagogue of your choice (suggestions, walking instructions to be provided)

Shabbat, 25 June

Parashat Hukkat

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Shabbat services at a choice of local synagogues. Shabbat lunch at the hotel. Walking tour to the Israel Museum to see including the Shrine of the Book (Dead Sea Scrolls) and the Model of Jerusalem in 1st Century (Late Second Temple period). Free time to explore other exhibits such as Judaica, modern Israeli art, and archeology.

Sunday, 26 June

Buffet breakfast followed by hotel check-out. Travel to the Dead Sea Region, pausing to gaze at Kumran, home of the mysterious ancient sect that authored the Dead Sea Scrolls. Enjoy a walk through the beautiful Ein Gedi Nature Reserve and review the biblical story of kings David and Saul “on site” (time permitting) Afternoon check-in at our hotel to enjoy it‛s pool, spa facilities and the amazing Dead Sea.

Monday, 27 June

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Set out across the Judean Desert and ascend Masada by cable car to tour the ruins of Herod’s palace and the last outpost of Jewish independence: Discussion: Which Jewish Legacy – Masada or Yavne? Travel north through the Jordan River Valley. Take pride in Israel‛s soldiers at an elite fighting unit‛s IDF base, including lunch with the soldiers (if available; to be arranged by Rabbi through Israel Bonds) Tour the remarkable excavation of the ancient Roman city of Beit Shean, including a magnificent Cardo, many residences, amphitheatre, etc. Free evening on the Tiberias Promenade.

Tuesday, 28 June

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Travel through the Golan Heights by jeep, off the beaten track and gaze down over the Galilee, as the Syrians once did. Taste the fruits of the region by visiting the award-winning Golan Heights Winery. Ascend to the peak of Mt. Bental, where you can take in a panoramic view at the crossroads of three countries; discuss the significance of the Golan Height in today‛s geo-political reality
Take a nature walk to the waterfall at the Banias Nature Reserve. Visit the Naot Sandal factory and perhaps take home some of this classic Israeli footwear. Enjoy dinner at Decks or the Pagoda.

Wednesday, 29 June

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of Tzefat
Take in a glass blowing demonstration with a Tzefat artist in her studio; hear how she connects the spiritual to the physical through her art.  Take the cable car to the mesmerizing ocean grottos of Rosh Hanikra, at Israel‛s border with Lebanon. Take part in a program about minority religious groups in Haifa (Ahmedis, Bahai, Carmelites, etc.), facilitated by Rabbi Dubi Hayun of Masorti kehillah, Moriah Haifa.
Free evening in Tiberias.

Thursday, June 30

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. In Atlit walk through the detention camp that held Holocaust refugees denied entry into Eretz Yisrael by the British; see the incredible, new “illegal immigration” boat with its wonderful high-tech laser presentation about heroic pre-State immigration. See ancient history come to life at the multi-media center against the backdrop of ancient Casesaria. Excavations include an impressive amphitheatre and aqueduct. Tour the alleys of Old Jaffa, the ancient port city once known as the Gate of Zion. Look out from the top of ancient Tel Jaffa and hear about the vision for founding modern Tel Aviv. Hotel check-in followed by a free evening.

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Climb down into the amazing underground, pre-State bullet factory built by the Haganah under the noses of the British at the Ayalon Institute. Enjoy an impressive presentation of the amazing achievements of the Palmach at the recently opened multi-media Palmach Museum (age 5 and up only) Lunch on your own and free time to explore the Nahalat Binyamin crafts fair. While there checkout the nearby Carmel Market and bohemian Sheinkin Street. Free evening in Tel Aviv. Kabbalat Shabbat in the Tel Aviv Port with hundreds of others.

At “Dig for a Day” program in Beit Guvrin National Park, have a hands-on experience of archeology as you uncover actual artifacts, taking part in an actual archeological dig; “cave crawl” also available for the adventurous. At the masorti-style children‛s home, Neve Hana, in Kiryat Gat, see the tremendously heartwarming work carried out there with children who have no other home; enjoy their petting zoo and gourmet bakery, a work project staffed by students. Plant a tree in Israeli soil in honor or in memory of a loved one Return to the hotel for some free time to swim, pack, rest
